There are many ways to help your man that don’t include invading his space, tricking, or manipulating. Every herb, vitamin, or good food you give to your man will have the aggregate effect of making him healthier, andropause or no. So, if your man has rejected any conversations about menopause, or finds that kind of concept too oogy to contemplate, or if he just isn’t ready to deal with all that mess, here’s where you start.

His food! If you have not already, it’s time to address the amount of fat, fiber, sugar, and starch you serve your man. Serve less to no meat, salt, sugary and fatty foods. Serve more veggies, especially the deep green or cruciferous type. Soy is also very helpful to help excrete excess estrogen. Serve lots of fresh tomatoes, fresh and cooked. One food to avoid, though, is grapefruit, which can prevent the liver from breaking down estrogen. All other fruit is fair game! Something else to make your man smile is that he needs a bit of fat in his diet as it is needed to make testosterone and other hormones.

Here is some good news, in case you didn’t know it before. The same herbs that help women with their menopausal symptoms have the very same effect on the men. Toss a few on his vitamin plate and say no more. If your man is soy-phobic, give him 30-50 mgs of isoflavones supplement a day. Increase his vitamin C dose to 1,000 to3; 000.Zinc at 50mg twice a day is fine. Calcium helps to slow down bone mass reduction. No iron supplements, though.
